From Intention to Impact: Celebrating One Year of Plan To Action

If you would’ve asked me 10 years ago if I thought I would be co-owner of a company before I was 30, I would’ve laughed in your face. If you told me I’d be starting my second company at 30, I would’ve laughed even harder. But that’s exactly what happened in 2024. I will always be grateful for my time with Victoria co-owning Mattingly Solutions, but I am immensely proud of myself for branching out last year into Plan to Action and all that we’ve been able to accomplish.

Our core values are Teamwork, Intentionality, Integrity, Practicality, and Support. We’ve leaned into those while providing our various services including Strategic Planning, DEI Team Development, Training and Speaking, Assessment, and of course our most popular service, our Consulting Retainer.

Some highlights from the year include:

  • Formally announcing the launch of Plan to Action LLC on March 20th, 2024

  • Having the Triangle Tribune write a feature on me, Plan to Action, and the Triangle DEI Community on their FRONT PAGE in their July 14th, 2024 issue.

  • Continuing to build the Triangle DEI Community through our GroupMe chat and community events.

  • Sponsoring and speaking at several events including TedX Raleigh, NCSHRM, and SHRM Inclusion, to name a few.

  • Serving 23 clients in our first year.

  • Impacting over 88,000 employees through the work we completed.

We accomplished all of this at a time when this industry is navigating a lot of misinformation and confusion. Thank you to the partners who have supported our efforts, the countless referrals, and the clients who continue to trust in us. I was really intentional when naming the company (though not the most creative I’ll admit). I’m passionate about helping organizations slow down and be intentional about building inclusive and equitable cultures in their organizations. Taking the time to really establish what culture they’d like to create, plan a strategy for how to obtain that goal, and then actually put that plan into action.

For year two, I hope to see our impact continue to grow by leaning into our core best practices and also developing new ways for companies to create the welcoming cultures they desire. One of those new processes includes our Sponsorship Program Development service. Many organizations have formal mentorship programs, but not many have formal sponsorship programs or even understand the difference between the two and the importance of both. Our team can’t wait to start implementing this program in organizations to help them level up their internal career development pathways.

We are so excited to continue to make a positive impact and drive meaningful change in diversity, equity, and inclusion.
